We had never stayed on Fremont Street before, so jumped at the chance to stay at The Downtown Grand considering the great deal that we got. The weather in December was comfortable during the day (13-20°C) while it was quite chilly in the evening and overnight (3-10°C).

The hotel wasn’t directly on Fremont Street, it was on the next block over, however you could still hear the noise until the early hours of the morning. The location was great, and we ended up with a mountain view room that was just spectacular. The room was a decent size, and was well equipped with a big TV, desk, and extra lounging chair. Our only complaint was that the room didn’t have a bathtub to soak yourself in after a long day of walking in Vegas.

We had no problem getting around by bus, taxi or Uber/Lyft. The Mob Museum is located right behind the hotel, however we didn’t stop by. The pool was a rooftop pool on the 3rd floor that was heated, which is quite rare in Vegas. Hotels tend to close the pools for repairs in the winter, so we were a bit upset that we forgot to bring our bathing suits.

  • Great location
  • Heated pool in winter
  • Friendly Staff
  • Good onsite food options
  • Small, easy to navigate
  • Spacious, clean rooms
  • Close to bus routes
  • Hotel was recently renovated

  • Noise from Fremont Street carries
  • No bathtub in rooms
  • Few food options in the hotel

We would easily stay here again as it is one of the nicest hotels on/around Fremont Street. The renovations were done well and it had a lovely 1920’s feel to it while being modern. Very luxurious for Fremont Street and makes you go back in time a bit to what it must have been like back when the mobsters ruled the area.
