Happy Monday All!
We had a beautiful, snowy weekend with lots of walks and laughs!
On Friday we had a huge snow storm, or at least a huge one by Westcoast standards, so we ended up having a snow day from work. Before the snow really kicked up though, I ran down to my P.O. Box to pick up the Becca Parisian Lights highlighter that I had ordered off of Beautylish. I will have a review up on Friday for you (spoiler: it’s beautiful)! My husband went into work for a bit, so I trekked through the crazy snow and picked him up at noon. Our afternoon was spent walking the dogs in the magical snow. We rarely get snow here, so I turn into a kid the moment the white stuff hits the ground. Our evening was quite risky as we made the journey downtown for a show at ComedyMix. We had a great time with a bunch of friends, the headliner was Emily Heller, and she gave us all a good laugh. You should definitely check her out! She’s a liberal american, feminist vegetarian lady, with a lot of sass and a funny outlook on children.
Saturday brought more snow, and being house-bound for the first part of the day. The doggos were pleased to go on yet another magical walk in the snow, while us humans froze our bums off a bit. My husband and his sister went off to the sauna in the afternoon, while I ran off to do some errands (dog food buying & a quick tan). For dinner I made Chicken Fettucini Alfredo and then we watched Ted 2. I really enjoyed the first one, and I think the second wasn’t nearly as good, but I love Amanda Seyfried so it was still worth the watch.
I had a hard time falling asleep on Saturday night, so Sunday brought with it a drastic, necessary, change. I chopped a good 6-8 inches of hair off, and got a nice new do. I haven’t had short hair in years, which went terribly, but I went to my sister-in-laws hairdresser at Golden Scissors. I really like my haircut, I think… It’s definitely going to take some getting used to, but sometimes you just need a change!
My brother-in-law also made a badass frittata for breakfast which was delicious! The afternoon was spent doing grocery shopping and a short trip to Sephora Coquitlam (Big shout out! They have the best staff of ANY Sephora I’ve ever been to). Dinner was a hearty beef stew that disappeared rather quickly in our household, I will take it as a compliment! The remainder of my evening was spent reading Dear Dwayne, With Love, which I’m easily falling in love with. Please check out the book, it’s very funny and endearing and my wonderful friend Eliza Gordon put her heart and soul into it. Check it out, you won’t regret it!
What did you get up to this weekend?
Are you enjoying the winter or totally ready for Spring?
