Weekend Roundup January 26-28, 2018

Happy Monday!

I hope your weekend was lovely and that you spent some time with the ones that you love.

My husband has been working terribly hard this year, so I sneakily booked an impromptu weekend away to the States since his cell phone doesn’t have reception there *mwahahaha*.

We spent Friday to Sunday in Burlington, Washington, staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites.

The hotel was much nicer than anticipated! We stayed in the King Suite, and were upgraded to one with a hot tub that was thoroughly used!

The hotel was far enough from the highway to make it quiet, however it was incredibly close to all the food and shopping that we could want.

Friday consisted of getting to the hotel, and then heading out for dinner to Olive Garden. I’ve had a bad experience here once, but this time everything was great and our waitress was overwhelmingly friendly.

On Saturday after our complimentary hotel breakfast we headed down to Lynnwood, WA, for some shopping. I managed to hit up Ulta, DSW, and Nordstrom Rack.

I finally got my hands on Tarte Shapetape, but have yet to try it out. My hubby also bought me a beautiful navy blue French Connection jacket from Nordstrom Rack, while he picked up a pair of leather dress shoes from DSW.

After our little shopping excursion, we went the Red Lobster for dinner lunch. I was so excited for this, it was one of the reasons for picking this area of Washington for our weekend away…

I was very dissappointed. The food was overly salty, and just looked nothing like the photos. The biscuits were great! But you can buy them to make at home at Costco, so no more reason to go there.

Saturday night was spent relaxing in the hot tub while watching Thor and munching on fruit and drinking too much wine. Who says married life isn’t romantic??

The hotel has late checkout, but we ended up leaving at 10am after we had breakfast.

I spotted, with my little eye, a Coach outlet across the street, and seeing as I have little to no self control, I dragged my poor husband to shop once again.

My hubby ended up buying me the Coach purse the I had my eye on online, a beautiful pebbled teal crossbody bag with blackened metal hardware. It’s so perfect!

He also ended up getting himself an Oxblood coloured wallet, which surprised me as he is definitely not a name brand fella!

We stopped off at Costco on the way home, bought some libations to add to our liquor cabinet, and yet again more shoes.

We managed to get home by 3pm, which was wonderful because it allowed for some let down time after all the driving.

All in all, it was a perfect weekend, and I can’t wait to plan our next little getaway!
